Summer is fast approaching and so is the wedding season, it is paramount to all the events. It is a special day celebrating achievements of relationship goals, joys and everlasting love. It always calls for a slice of cake, or maybe even two. I always opt for minimalistic cakes of symmetric proportions!
This spring, I am planning on capitalising on the floral theme and incorporating that into my designs. Adding floral and fauna to the projects I make, accentuates the season and makes my creations the centrepiece of the event. I usually work with fondants and edible confectionaries to weave them into place. Preferably, I use muted colours that start out with a simplistic base and I make it pop with a touch of earth tones and hues that fits the themes of the events that I am catering for. Piping delicate buttercream aesthetics on the cakes, usually realistic flowers and leaves give it a subdued feel but grand enough to be special. Although not groundbreaking by any means, floral during springtime is a timeless trend that will continue on with the times. Techniques and methodologies may change and evolve but everything will always depend on how I construct my confectionary masterpieces that usually leave my clients in awe by the sheer grandeur of their stature when they arrive at the event.
